This rose hip syrup is a light nectar/syrup made from the juice of local beach rose hips, sugar, and a bit of lemon juice.
Because rose hips are very high in vitamin C, this syrup was once given as a health tonic to children on cold winter mornings. Rose Hips contain 5 times more vitamin C than an orange. They also contain vitamins A, D, and E, as well as antioxidants. This syrup can be drizzled over pancakes, ice cream, oatmeal, and yogurt. Use it as a simple syrup in cocktails. Add it to water or Seltzer water to make a refreshing non-alcoholic drink. Sweeten hot or iced tea with Beach Rose.
