With its misleading name, this plant is actually in the Iris family.  Forms a petite clump of greenish/gray grass-like leaves with adorable dark purple flowers with a bright yellow center in June.  Attracts many bees and butterflies. Grows to 12 inches.

Growing Conditions:

Sun/part shade; Dry to Moist soils.  Meadows and ditches.
