Chana Masaala (Curried chickpeas)
This is another crowd pleaser from farmers markets. My customers love my curried chickpeas. This dish is made with organic chickpeas, tomatoes, garlic, onions, Indian spices such as turmeric, coriander, cayenne, my own mix of Chana Masaala powder, black pepper,salt. It’s low in vegetable oil. It is gluten free and vegan. Comes in 8 oz container. Warm in microwaveable bowl for 1-2 min or stovetop medium heat for 2-3 min, until warm. You could add 1/4 cup of water but that’s optional.
You can serve it with fried rice (as shown in picture, rice not included with order ). You can also serve it with plain basmati. Or eat as is on top of salads. Buy some market greens and add these curried chickpeas to make it a wholesome salad packed with protein.
Sometimes if you want a hearty snack you can get a boiled potato, add some of this Chana Masaala on top, yogurt, and crushed peanuts on top, that makes a yummy street snack from India. Of course we do garnish it with some chopped onions, cilantro and some sort of sweet sour chutney.
