This heirloom has been cultivated since the 1800’s and has been historically popular used for baked beans The colonists were introduced to these beans by the Algonquin-speaking tribes of New England, who baked them in ceramic pots with maple syrup and bear fat. (sorry can’t offer you the bear fat).
