New Zealand Spinach leaf and stem, or shoots are a treat in salads or in stir-fries. Remove the desired leaves, big or small, or eat stem and all as we do! Removing these smaller, high-quality leaves is very time-consuming, so sometimes it’s just a stem and leaf on the chopp’n board, and on the pan kind of day.
New Zealand Spinach is the heirloom variety we cultivate, and offer. We love how it is not prone to bolting due to weather extremes, and it’s juicy, succulent, mild and fresh-tasting qualities.
All orders are harvested each morning for optimum freshness and maintaining nutrients.
Grown on Woodlot Farm in Robbinston, ME.
These are inspected after harvesting, but are unwashed. Rinsing before eating is recommended. Washing is necessary as soil particles or a spruce leaf may sneak their way into our greens, but pesticides (organic or not) are never used on the farm.
