On Bagaduce Farm we make a collection of artisanal hand and shaving soaps for personal use.
62% of the ingredients in each bar are from nearby farms and gardens. The remaining oils are Certified Organic. Our base soap recipe also includes Jojoba ester and bees wax to enhance the luxurious feel and extend the life of each bar.
For several thousand years rendered body fat from pigs, sheep, and cattle was the principle ingredient used in soap. Today, most of it is relegated to the commercial waste stream. Ugh.
I collect extra pig fat from a select few local organic farmers and render it into the beautiful lard, full of healthy fats and minerals, that can only be created by happy, healthy pigs raised outdoors on lush pastures.
