“Wildflowers don’t care where they grow” – Dolly Parton
A super deluxe textured blend of soft American grown and processed Rambouillet and Targhee, blended with Sari Silk, Eri Peace Silk, Rose Fiber and Cashmere.
185 yds per hank
Generously portioned hanks at just over 4oz (weigh 4.4oz!)
This is ultra buttery soft and squishy, perfect for next to skin garments! The color shifts in the light from a light mauve pink to sandy blush
I also have this as roving here!
What makes Wildflower blend fiber unique? Well, it’s the result of what magic can happen by leaving the final results up to fate by sending off all the fancy fiber I’ve been hanging onto (aka too afraid to play with), to see what it becomes. I love this batch so much that I will likely do a run of this every year with any extra special fleeces, odds and ends left in my stash and mix it with whatever surplus sari silk I have, and of course, rose fiber to round out the soft, textured, floral inspired theme. There is no guarantee other than no batch will ever be alike!
This inaugural release of wildflower is extra special as the fiber itself has traveled far and wide! It’s return from the mill also happens to coincide with Lupine season here in Maine, thus earning this 2023 batch it’s “colorway” name “Wild Lupine”. How perfectly special! I can’t wait to see what next year brings!
